What we usually find
The Aging Profile
Forty reviews, a 4.6 rating, and the most recent one is from fourteen months ago. Google weights recency, and so do buyers. A stale profile reads as a business that stopped caring.
Reputation · Local · Reviews
Nobody picks up the phone first anymore. They search your name, scan your rating, read the two most recent reviews, and decide — usually in under a minute. Increasingly they do not even search. They ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Grok or Perplexity who to call, and get back three names. Your reviews and your business data are what decides whether one of them is yours.
No obligation. You keep the findings either way.
The honest version
Paid media, SEO, email — all of it exists to get a buyer to the moment where they decide. Reputation is the only trade that operates at that exact moment, and it is almost always the least funded. Three things are usually wrong at once.
What we usually find
Forty reviews, a 4.6 rating, and the most recent one is from fourteen months ago. Google weights recency, and so do buyers. A stale profile reads as a business that stopped caring.
What we usually find
One or two bad reviews sitting with no response. The review itself costs you less than the silence next to it — silence reads as agreement, or as nobody being home.
What we usually find
A Business Profile claimed years ago, wrong categories, half the services missing, four photos, no posts. It is technically live and effectively absent from the map pack.

Local ranking factors
Google evaluates three primary signals to determine which three businesses appear in the local 3-pack. Two of them are entirely within your operational control.
01
Control: High · Speed: Fast
How well your local business profile matches what someone is searching for.
We optimize categories, services, products, and attributes so Google understands every search query you should answer for in your geographic market.
02
Control: Low · Speed: Fixed
How far each potential search result is from the location term or the searcher's physical coordinates.
While physical distance cannot be changed, geo-gridded optimization expands the effective perimeter where your business triggers top-3 map pack visibility.
03
Control: High · Speed: Compounding
How well known and authoritative a business is across the local web.
Prominence is driven by review volume, review score, review velocity, inbound directory citations, and overall search authority. This is where most competitors fail to invest.
AI visibility · AEO
When someone asks an AI assistant (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini) for a recommendation, the model does not browse the web like a human. It evaluates entity trust, corroborated data, and unstructured customer sentiment.
Factor 01
Verified data wins
AI models cite sources with consistent, corroborating data across high-authority directories, official filings, and verified business platforms. Conflicting NAP information creates ambiguity that causes AI models to skip your business.
Factor 02
Volume, recency, score
Large language models ingest customer review text as unstructured training and retrieval data. Detailed, authentic reviews mentioning specific services and staff names provide semantic proof of quality that AI models directly synthesize into answers.
Factor 03
Ambiguity gets you dropped
If an AI model cannot unambiguously distinguish your business identity, location, and service lines from competitors, it defaults to the entity it is certain about. Schema architecture and structured profiles give AI models certainty.
Read this before you hire anyone
Yes. It is called review gating, and it is a direct violation of Google’s Prohibited and Restricted Content policies.
× The common trick
Sending customers a survey first: if they say they are happy (4 or 5 stars), they get sent to Google; if they are unhappy (1 to 3 stars), they get redirected to a private feedback form.
! The consequence
Google explicitly prohibits selectively soliciting positive reviews or discouraging negative reviews. If detected, Google strips all collected reviews or suspends the Business Profile outright.
• What we do instead
Every customer receives the same request without sentiment filters. Rapid public response and operational volume naturally build a compliant, defensible rating that withstands audits.

FAQ
They overlap, but they are not the same trade. Local SEO is primarily technical and positional: categories, citations, website signals, and local landing pages. Reputation management is behavioral and operational: turning real customer completions into reviews, responding to feedback, monitoring brand sentiment, and defending against negative exposure. We treat them as two halves of the same system because Google's algorithm does — prominence (reputation) and relevance (local SEO) cannot be separated.
Because Google's policy explicitly prohibits it. Under Google's review guidelines, asking only happy customers to leave a public review while routing unhappy customers to a private form is considered a policy violation. If Google detects review gating, they can and do strip reviews from your profile. Beyond policy, gating is short-sighted: buyers trust a 4.7 with hundreds of recent reviews and thoughtful responses far more than a spotless 5.0 with thirty reviews from two years ago.
Only if it violates Google's prohibited and restricted content policies — such as hate speech, fake engagement, harassment, or conflicts of interest. If a review violates policy, we submit a formal removal request and track the dispute. If a review is legitimate criticism from a real customer, it cannot be deleted. In those cases, we respond professionally, resolve the issue where possible, and outpace it with a steady volume of new positive reviews.
Initial profile fixes (categories, hours, secondary attributes, photo updates) can show impact within two to four weeks. Measurable gains in local rankings and map pack visibility typically compound over 60 to 90 days as review velocity picks up and citation signals are verified across the web. Local visibility is an earned position that rewards consistent activity over time.
We review your Google Business Profile, review count, rating, recency and response rate, where you show up in the local map pack against your top competitors, and how AI assistants describe your business. A real person on our team checks every audit, then sends you a one-page PDF within 2 business days. No call required, and you keep the findings either way.
We use a combination of enterprise review automation, geo-grid rank tracking, citation management platforms, and our proprietary WhiskeyNeat.ai client portal. You get real-time dashboards showing review velocity, sentiment trends, and geo-gridded rankings across your service area — with zero proprietary lock-in. You own your profiles and data.
Yes. We draft and publish professional, brand-aligned responses to both positive and negative reviews. For negative reviews, we follow an approved escalation protocol to address customer concerns without escalating tensions online or creating legal liability.
Minimal effort. In the first two weeks, we need access to your Google Business Profile and other directory accounts, plus an integration with your CRM, invoicing tool, or customer management software so our system knows when a job or transaction is completed. After that, review requests happen automatically, and we handle the responses, monitoring, and reporting.
Engagements begin with an initial 6-month agreement, then transition to month-to-month. Reputation and local signals compound over time — six months provides the runway needed to clean your footprint, build review momentum, and demonstrate clear ROI in phone calls, leads, and revenue.
